On Good Friday, around the world, Christians remember the crucifixion of Christ. It was on this day, nearly 2000 years ago, that Jesus went to the cross for our sins. He was the Lamb of God, sacrificed for our sins, past, present, and future. The sacrifices offerred by the Israelites as atonement for their sins were imperfect and therefore temporary. The sacrifice made by God of His only son, Jesus Christ, was perfect and therefore permanent. On Good Friday, that sacrifice was made. While many look to the cross as see the Savior hanging on a tree, I see the Savior giving us eternal life in His death.

Think about this as you go into your weekend. Christ died so we could live. Would you do the same for Him. If your answer isn’t “Yes,” are you really following His teachings? Are you really being a Hardcore Christian?

Until the Whole World Knows,

Paul

There will be no post Saturday, but look for a special one on Easter!

It’s just not that simple, the classic cross-hanging Jesus, I mean. A visiting pastor got really God-awful in describing the mutilation of Jesus AS ANNOUNCED THOUSANDS OF YEARS EARLIER in the OT. Then I got home in time to pick up “Passion of the Christ”. Now, THAT is the real deal. Utter and devastating brutality. I’m still moved. In fact, I posted on my http://www.gendads.comn The Good Friday Father. Jesus has more to teach us than we normally allow. This one’s about what He shows us as dads.
